Salted Nutella Cookies

I love to bake and I love to eat and most of all I love Nutella.
So when Tanya Burr published her new book Tanya Bakes I could not wait to try the Salted Nutella Cookies.

I have been a huge fan of Tanya's cookie recipe for such a long time and they are definitely my go to recipe, I just love them, they are so chocolatey and huge and OH MY WORD so good when they are warm. Please excuse me as I stop writing this post and go and make some, like right now. SO YUMMY.

So you lovely lot, enough of me talking its time to get baking and make ourselves some Salted Nutella Cookies.

200g / Unsalted Butter
300g / Caster Sugar
1 / Large Egg
325g / Self Raising Flour
1 / Teaspoon of Sea Salt
200g / Nutella

1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees and line two baking trays with grease proof paper.
I actually didn't have any grease proof paper so went for it with out and it worked.

2. Pop the butter and caster sugar into a bowl and get your mix on untill it is light and fluffy.
I popped this into a mixer that we have but you can do it by hand if you want, but advance warning make sure someone else is around to help as its so tiring to mix it on your own.

3. Add the Egg and mix.

4. Add the flour & the sea salt gradually and keep mixing to form a dough.

5. Mix the Nutella into the mix creating a marble affect.
I sucked at this, it definitely wasn't a marble affect.

6. Divide the dough into small pieces and place on a baking tray.
I got around 12 pieces out of the dough. I popped them on to the tray and pressed it down. Just an advance warning THEY EXPAND and are huge so make sure your spread them out well.

7. Pop them in the over for 12 Minutes.
After 12 minutes you may think they don't look cooked but they are.

8. Pop on the kettle and make yourself a brew, grab a cookie, put up your feet and enjoy.

So there you have it, the easiest and yummiest Salted Nutella Cookies. I am so tempted to try it with other crazy spreads now.

That Denim Dress

So they are everywhere at the moment aren't they, a quick search on Pinterest 'denim dress' and there is picture after picture of girls rocking denim dresses with stripes and red lips and cold shoulder tops and oh my it's just heaven isn't it!

I love denim dresses, well actually I love denim skirts and shirts and well I love jeans. My name is Colleen and I love denim, it's official and I am not afraid to tell the world.

The search for the perfect denim dress took my on quite the search as being well, not skinny and a little more fuller than the average lady I needed to find the perfect one that would work the best for me.

When I stumbled across this denim dress from Very I was so excited to try the damn thing on. The dress when I bought it was £35 but is currently in the sale for £24.50, what a steal.

This dress has a gold chunky zip that zips from the top to the bottom which is a tad daring but let's be honest, who would really come up to me and pull the zip down???!?!

The straps are thick which is great especially if you wanted to rock it with out a top. The dress comes slightly in at the waist with a small band that goes round, it then slightly goes out skimming over those hips and the straight down. I do find this shape of this dress super flattering.

One massive win for me is the fact that this dress has pockets. Dresses and skirts with pockets are the best, find me the beauty who invented that as I want to kiss there faces.

This denim is not to cardboard like, do you know what I mean? There is a lot of movement in the fabric which is so good for me, there is nothing worse than that thick rigid denim where you more like shuffle that walk.

There are tons of ways we can wear a denim dress but for me I love wearing mine with a cold shoulder top, rose gold necklace, bright red lipstick, a bit of a tan on those legs and some flip flops.

So do you have a denim dress? How do you like to rock yours? Also if you do pick up this dress from Very then let me know, I would love to know your thoughts.

A Trip to the Seaside

Oh I do like to be beside the seaside, seriously I really do. There is something about the sea and the water that just makes my heart so happy. If I could move my house to the sea and take all my family and friends and life with me it’s fair to say that my heart would probably burst.

Every year around Easter or my birthday Andrew and I always take a trip to Whitby. Whitby is one of my favourite beaches, I could spend hours exploring the town, sitting on the beach or even walking up and down those steps to the abbey on top of the hill.

We have been so many times now that there are some things that we have to do no matter what.
That includes going in the sea, playing on the 2p machines, buying fudge, playing a retro style bowling, eating icecream, playing mini golf and also going on a boat. These things are all a must and if we don’t do them we feel like we have been robbed of our Whitby experience.

This year Andrew took me to Whitby for my birthday and the weather was perfect and we were able to do all the things we wanted to do.

Here are some pictures of our day at the seaside.

Have  you ever been to Whitby? What are your favourite things to do at the seaside?

Summer To Do

Stop what you are doing and look outside right now. ITS SUNNY AND ITS HOT AND I AM MELTING AND I WISH I HAD WORN LESS CLOTHES, FACT!

Ok, ok its the 21st July and where I live its hot and sunny and truth being told you could be reading this in a months time and it be raining or maybe even snowing but for now, right now, in this moment SUMMER IS HERE.

Oh, how I have been waiting for you, you blue sky, warm air, sunny beautifullness, you finally decided to put on your hat and say hello and you know what it is so good to see you, please stay, like pretty please, ignore all the haters we love you a lot!

In the midst of this summer heatwave we seem to be in I thought it was only apt that I wrote myself a Summer To Do list, some of these things are a standard when it comes to the summer but some are just personal things that I want to achieve over the next few months.

So here we have it my 2016 Summer To Do...

*Eat outside as often as I can

*Have a huge family BBQ

*Invite friends around ALOT

*Paddle in the river

*Spend the day at the beach

*Get a tan
From the sun or from a bottle, I am super easy like that!

*Wear lots of bright nail varnish
This has started, I am already rocking the yellow look.

*Have lots of picnics

*Find a fire pit and toast marshmallows

*Late night walks

*Create the ultimate summer playlist

*Have a social media detox
This I really need to do, social media, love it and hate it

*Spend more time with my family

*Read a book sat in the sunshine

*Go to an outdoor cinema

*Go for a drive in the country and find a cute pub to sit in

*Try all of Costas iced coolers, the fruit ones those creamy ones make me sick!

*Do some housey jobs that we keep putting off

*Get our gardening on, maybe, if we want, if we have time. Being truthful if we can be bothered.
I am not holding out much hope for this one.

Voila, one very full, very exciting to do list and you know what, I can not wait to start making plans. So what are you summer plans and do you have anything you want to do this summer.

Enjoy the sunshine you lovely ones.

Wedding OOTD

If you have seen my last two posts you would have seen that Andrew and I were invited to a wedding at the beginning of July in London. We turned it into an adventure and headed into Brighton for the day and London as well which were SUPER FUN.

I spent weeks trying to look for the perfect outfit and even shared with you some of my ideas on here but finally after buying a million things and returning them and even adding around 1000 things to my wish list on ASOS we made it.

Bag // Borrowed but its from Next
Peplum Vest Top // Tesco
Shoes // Primark
Knecklace // Primark

I really did love this outfit and felt so comfortable on the day. The vest top is actually a peplum style top but tucked into the skirt you would never know.

The morning of the wedding the weather was grim so half an hour before the couple said 'I do' I was in the local Tesco picking up this shawl/scarf. It actually completed the outfit really nice and helped with my self consciousness.

This Knecklace cost me £2 from Primark and I love it. Its is a beautiful rose gold chain with what looks like two coins attached to it.

One thing I loved about this skirt is the fact it had pockets and pleats. The pockets were a massive win in my eyes and well every curvy girl loves a good pleat.

These pale blue peep toe shoes were perfect and so cute, I love the coloured mixed with the navy and pink.

I struggled to find a bag that matched so a quick tx to my sister who then messaged a friend and I had this beautiful nude bag which worked beautifully with the navy, pink, cream and blue.

The wedding was in the beautiful Smallfield Place in Horley and it really was beautiful.

The wedding was the perfect end to our adventure weekend in the south.

So have you got a wedding this summer if so what are you wearing?

London with my Favourite

So if you saw my post yesterday you would of seen that Andrew and I were invited to a wedding in London, instead of heading down for the day we decided to make an adventure of it, first stop on the tour was Brighton, actually I was wrong it was Watford where we stopped at a service station and bumped into my old maths teacher from school, weird! Anyway where were we, to see what we got up to in Brighton then make sure you check out my post from yesterday.

On the Friday we spent the day in London. I have to say that considering we are two people from the countryside where a bus only comes through town ever hour, we nailed the tube system thingy amazingly! We walked everywhere and saw so many sights, the weather was lame and I was in flipflops which caused a few hilarious falls but you know, I got myself back up again and it was fine, I mean no one in London knows me right?

I loved being a tourist for the day and here is London through a lens.

I have only ever been to London twice and I just love it so much, having lived in Liverpool for 4 years there is something I love about city life. I love the lights, colours, the hustle and bustle and just the fact that you do not know what you are going to find when you walk around a corner.

London you were so good to us and I loved getting to know you a bit more.

There is one thing that you do need to improve and that is your train service, man, 45 minutes I sat on a train in Victoria Station waiting to leave as there was no conductor, but don't worry I had a lovely conversation with a drunk man about rainbows which was so pleasant.

Till next time London.
